The top anime I think is called FairyTail. It's one of my favorite anime I watch over and over again even though there are more than 700 episodes.
It's mostly about a girl named Lucy Heartfilia, who moves into a new town. She doesn't know anyone but runs into the famous Salamander, Natsu Dragoneel. She tells him that she wants to become a FairyTail member, his Exceed Happy laughs uncontrollably. But he shows her the guild anyway, and later she finds out he is part of it as well. And after that they become really good friends.
This anime is a mage type of anime, with action, sadness, and fun adventure they encounter while going on quests. I hope you choose to watch this anime because its one of my favorites. If you don't watch it then please try to, it might be somewhere in your liking.
